Religious Insensitivity Leads to Social Restlessness

In recent times, there have been many occasion where the media have reported communal violence and hatred over lord Ram in different nooks and corners of the country. And it is eventually in every year Ram Navami, that mostly the prominent day on which all the violence, communal hatred broke out. This year also communal violence and restlessness reported from various part of the country. It all happens because of the religious insensitivity and intolerance, which fumes the anger of one religion over the other. The happening on which this particular article is all about is related to the recent violence which broke out on the day of Ram Navami in Bhadrakh district of the state Odisha.

Odisha as state is always treated and known as a secular state and it is not very often that people engage and resorted to all these nonsensical activities, which has no human and moral values. Taking particularly Bhadrakh city of the state of Odisha, which has witnessed these communal hatred and violence in the past also i.e. in 1991, which created a havoc of religious and cultural insensitivity and intolerance and that led to the stone-throwing, looting and many other anti-social activities by both Hindu as well as Muslim community. In reality and true to the fact, what happened in this year’s Ram Navami, that the whole situation is based on an insensitive and derogatory post in social media, which fumes the and triggered the source for disturbances all over the Bhadrakh town and finally which compelled the local administration and the police was bound to impose curfew to avoid any kind of communal hatred and violence.

This not for the first times that these kinds of stuffs being reported and the commoners are getting are getting actively involved in these nonsensical stuffs. The whole issue behind all these that nowadays people are losing their sense of tolerance and sensitivity to accept and respect other religion and culture, when something is being expressed in a glamorous and engrossing manner before them, they are getting restless from all these and finally they are resorting to these communal violence and hatred. And as a result, the whole of human society is suffering at last and the commoners are paying the price for it. When these kinds of happenings are taking place, it is leaving the administration way less, since the commoner are engaged with all these, because at the end of the day everybody is highly sensitive and reserved when it comes to their own region and cultural belief. Nobody has any right to hurt anybody’s cultural and religious belief, as our constitution has guaranteed that.

In the age of ICT, when everything has to be measured and believed based on the scientific evidences, people are still resorting to all these non-sense and hampering the peace in the society by engaging in these fruitless activities, which has no value to add to the human society except spreading hatred among the human communities is simply unacceptable. It would be better if people of all communities come forward and work together to contribute for the betterment of society and make this whole society of human being a truly secular one, where everybody will be happy with their own cultural and religious belief and nobody will have no insensitivity and intolerance for any other religious and cultural beliefs. It is the need of the hour and the commoners across religion and cultures have to understand it to save the sense of humanity before it get endangered.
